Pembrokeshire Coastal Races
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Races take place along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Wales Coast Path, a National Trail known for its cliff tops, coves, and beaches. All races are linear, finishing at the event headquarters located at Dale Hill Farm Campsite. This base features an event marquee, toilets, showers, food and drink vendors, and parking.
Participants can choose from four distinct distances:
- 100-mile ultra: A 160 km route from St Dogmaels to Dale with 6,300m of ascent.
- 50-mile ultra: An 80 km route starting in Porthgain with 2,850m of ascent.
- 50K ultra: A 50 km route from St Davids with 1,850m of ascent.
- 22-mile trail race: A 35 km route starting at Newgale Beach with 1,150m of ascent.
The event is self-navigation, following the established waymarkers of the Coast Path. All competitors receive a GPS trace to assist with navigation, and specific areas such as checkpoint entries are marked with flags and marshals. Support includes regular checkpoints with refreshments and hot food. The number of checkpoints varies from 3 for the shortest distance to 12 for the 100-mile race.
Entry fees include coach transport from the finish at Dale to the various start lines, a GPS tracker hire, and race photography. The 100-mile and 50-mile entries also include two nights of camping at the event HQ. All finishers receive a bespoke medal or a finishers buckle for the 100-mile distance.
