Peebles Sprint Triathlon
The Peebles Sprint Triathlon is part of the Live Borders Triathlon Series and takes place in the historic Borders countryside. The event is based at the Peebles Swimming Pool and serves as the final event in the annual series. Participants complete a three-part course consisting of a swim, a cycle, and a run.
The race segments include:
- 750m pool-based swim (30 lengths)
- 20km bike ride
- 5km run
The swim takes place in the Peebles Swimming Pool, with starters organized into waves based on estimated swim times. The transition area is located in the car park adjacent to the pool. The cycling portion follows the B7062 toward Howford Farm, passing local landmarks such as Kalzie Gardens and Traquair House. This segment features a dead turn, directing cyclists back along the same route.
The run course follows the banks of the River Tweed. It includes two loops of the "Three Bridges" section and follows a circular riverside path that crosses the Priorsford and Fotheringham bridges. Parking for the event is available in the public car park behind the swimming pool, with additional space at the Kings Meadow Car Park.
