Event Overview
The Peavine Falls & Climbs 5K takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. There are two separate events: a run and a hike. The event starts and finishes at the Peavine Falls Parking area.
Course Description
The 5 km course begins on a flat service road before descending sharply. The route includes pinestraw-covered singletrack climbs, a descent to Peavine Gorge Overlook, and a technical, rocky downhill to a creek. Participants cross the creek and navigate a section described as technical and gnarly, involving hands-on rock steps.
The route passes Peavine Falls and involves additional creek crossings and climbs, including a scramble to a cliffside trail. After a final bridge, an extended climb leads to West Ridge, where the terrain becomes more runnable for the finish back at the parking area.
