Pear Run and Pear Ruck : Pearland, Texas
The Pear Run is an annual community road running event organized by the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association to benefit the Pearland Police Department. The event dates to 2001 and has supported the department by funding non-budget items such as fully equipped bicycles for the police bike team, K9 officers, contributions to a mobile command center, and a fallen officer memorial garden.
The 2026 event takes place at Independence Park in Pearland, Texas. The program includes these distances:
- 10K Course USATF certified, starts and finishes inside Independence Park
- 5K Course USATF certified out and back, family friendly, starts and finishes inside Independence Park
- Pear Ruck 10K inaugural event added this year
Everyone who completes a course receives a finisher medal. Race t-shirts are available for early registrants. Awards are presented to the top male and female overall and to the top finisher in each age group.
Past race results are maintained for previous years. The event is described as a community fundraiser and has run for over 20 years in support of local police department needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
