Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield
Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield takes place on 20 September 2026 in Hayfield and features fell running across Peak District hills, moors and dales. The event requires route choice and navigation skills and uses a score format with a three hour time limit.
The Peak Raid series comprises four three hour races. Race 1 is Hayfield on 20 September; other rounds are scheduled in October, November and December at different locations. Events use SiTiming and give competitors a waterproof map with control descriptions and points values at the start.
Competitors may enter solo or as a pair and may run, jog or walk. The aim is to collect as many points as possible within the three hour limit; points are lost for lateness. Best three results count toward the overall league result. Pairs may enter any category and category for pairs is based on the age of the oldest competitor.
There are 15 categories in total, including solo and pairs categories for men and women across veteran age groups, mixed pairs categories, and a Parent or Guardian and Under 18 category. Minimum age to compete is 14 and age categories are determined by age on 31/12/2026. To be eligible for prizes entrants must complete at least two races.
Competitors must wear or carry FRA mandatory minimum kit: waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Kit will be checked.
Entries open 11 February 2026 and close 17 September 2026. Entry fees are listed in early, standard and late bands and FRA members receive a reduction on fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
