Event Overview
This event, Peak Raid Race 1, is part of a series of four three-hour fell running races. It is a score-format race held in Hayfield, in the Peak District. Participants must navigate their own route to collect as many points as possible within the three-hour time limit. Competitors start in pre-selected five-minute time slots between 8:00 and 10:00, with registration opening at 7:30.
Event Format and Participation
Participants can compete solo or as a pair. The event's score format allows for personal route choice based on ability, terrain, and weather conditions. The best three results across the four-race series count towards the overall league standings.
Ages are determined relative to the event date, with a minimum age of 14. There are 15 categories for solos, pairs, and mixed pairs. Pairs can enter all categories, with the category determined by the age of the eldest competitor. Prizes are awarded to the top three in each category, provided a minimum of two races are completed.
Mandatory Kit and Rules
All competitors must wear or carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit: waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, hat, gloves, a provided map, compass, whistle, emergency food, and a survival bag. Kit will be checked. Dogs are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
