Payton's Run
Payton's Run is a cancer awareness run and walk held on June 13, 2026 at Hidden Lake @ Star School in Browning, MT. The event includes both an in-person run/walk and a virtual option, each covering 3 miles.
Participants receive a participation shirt and a medal. First place medals are awarded for these age groups: 7 and under, 8-12, 13-17, 18-22, 23-27, 28-32, 33-40, 41-50, and 50 plus. The in-person registration fee is $20 for participants aged 18 and older; those fees support a scholarship fund. Virtual registration is $25.
The event was created to honor a child who was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma in 2020 and who died in 2022. Organizers describe the event as a way to reflect that child's strength and love and to continue a legacy through community support.
Organizers plan to use proceeds to establish a scholarship for high-achieving students. The first scholarship is scheduled to be awarded to a member of the graduating class of 2027 and will continue annually thereafter.
