Glacier Half Marathon
The Glacier Half Marathon is a road half marathon held on June 26, 2027, along the eastern border of Glacier National Park in Montana. The race covers 13.1 miles and finishes on the front lawn of the Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier Village.
The course starts near Highway 89 east of Kiowa and includes a sustained climb during the first five miles, followed by mostly downhill running from miles five to ten and a final section with several short climbs and drops. The route is primarily on pavement with a couple of short grass sections. Five aid stations are provided along the course. The course is well marked; runners are required to stay to the left when running with traffic and must avoid entering traffic lanes.
Event logistics include an expo and bib pickup at Red Eagle Campground the day before the race and parking with shuttle service from Charging Home Stampede Park in Browning on race morning. There is no parking or drop off at the start or finish lines; shuttles transport runners to the start and return from the finish. The Vacation Races campground at Red Eagle is primitive camp style with tents and RVs allowed, port-a-potties, potable water, and quiet hours.
All finishers receive finisher medals. Place medals are awarded for top finishers in overall and age group categories, with overall awards based on gun time and age group awards based on chip time. The event operates a cup free, low waste policy and asks participants to carry a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
