Glacier Half Marathon : Glacier National Park area, June 26, 2027
The Glacier Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile point-to-point road race that runs along the eastern border of Glacier National Park. The course begins about 1.3 miles east of Kiowa on Highway 89 and finishes on the front lawn of Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier Village.
The route is mostly on pavement with a few short grass sections. Runners face a sustained climb for the first five miles as they ascend Looking Glass Hill, then experience largely downhill running from miles 5 to 10. The final miles include a series of smaller climbs and drops before the finish. Two Medicine Lake is visible along miles 5–8. The course is marked and supported by five aid stations and has a four hour time limit.
Event logistics include an expo and bib pickup at Red Eagle Campground and parking and race-day shuttles operating from Charging Home Stampede Park in Browning. There is no parking or drop-off at the start or finish lines; shuttles return runners to the Browning parking area after the race. The event operates a cup-free policy at aid stations and the finish, so runners should plan to carry or use a refillable bottle, cup, or hydration pack.
Camping is offered at Red Eagle Campground as a primitive group site with tent and RV space, port-a-potties, potable water, shared fire pits, and quiet hours. Place medals are awarded to top overall and age-group finishers, and all finishers receive a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
