Glacier Half Marathon : Glacier National Park area
The Glacier Half Marathon is a point-to-point road race of 13.1 miles along the eastern border of Glacier National Park, scheduled for June 26, 2027. The course begins about 1.3 miles east of Kiowa, MT on Highway 89 and finishes on the front lawn of the Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier Village.
Runners climb for the first five miles, including Looking Glass Hill, then enjoy a mostly downhill stretch from about miles 5 to 10 with views of Lower Two Medicine Lake. The route is paved except for a few short grass sections and is fully marked. Aid is available on course at five aid stations. The course includes roughly 1,200 feet of elevation change and has an overall time limit of four hours.
Event logistics include an expo and bib pickup at Red Eagle Campground the day before the race and parking plus start-line shuttles from Charging Home Stampede Park in Browning, MT. There is no parking or drop-off at the start or finish; shuttles return runners to the Browning parking lot after the race. The Vacation Races campground is at Red Eagle Campground near Lower Two Medicine Lake and is primitive group-style camping.
The event is cup-free; runners should bring a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack. Finish-line staging provides a food box, bananas, chocolate milk, and water (no disposable cups). Place medals and finisher medals are awarded; overall awards use gun time for the first wave while age-group awards use chip time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
