Glacier Half Marathon - June 27, 2026
The Glacier Half Marathon is a point-to-point 13.1-mile road race that runs along the eastern border of Glacier National Park, finishing on the front lawn of Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier Village. The course begins about 1.3 miles east of Kiowa on Highway 89 and is paved except for a few short grass sections.
Runners face a long climb during the first five miles, including a near 900-foot rise at Kiowa, followed by a sustained downhill from roughly mile 5 to mile 10 and a final sequence of smaller climbs and drops to the finish. The route offers views of the prairies at the park base and Lower Two Medicine Lake during miles 5 through 8.
Support on course includes five aid stations and clear course markings; runners are required to stay left when sharing the road with traffic. The event operates as a cup-free race, so water and electrolyte stations do not provide disposable cups; runners should bring a reusable bottle, collapsible cup, or hydration pack.
Event weekend logistics include an expo and bib pickup at Red Eagle Campground, primitive camping available at the Vacation Races campground (Red Eagle Campground) with port-a-potties and potable water, and parking plus race-day shuttles located at Charging Home Stampede Park in Browning, MT. Place medals are awarded to top finishers in overall and age-group categories, and all finishers receive a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
