Glacier Half Marathon
The Glacier Half Marathon is a point-to-point road race of 13.1 miles held on June 26, 2027, along the eastern border of Glacier National Park. The course begins near Kiowa, MT, follows Highway 89, climbs for the first five miles to Looking Glass Hill, then descends roughly from mile five to mile ten with views of Lower Two Medicine Lake, and finishes on the front lawn of the historic Glacier Park Lodge.
The route is paved except for a few short grass sections, includes about five aid stations, and is run as a high-elevation course with a stated event time limit of four hours. Runners should stay left when sharing the road with traffic and follow course markings for safety.
Event logistics include an expo and bib pickup at Red Eagle Campground the day before the race, parking and shuttles from Charging Home Stampede Park in Browning with no parking at the start or finish, and a Vacation Races campground at Red Eagle (primitive group-style camping with port-a-potties and potable water). The event operates a cup-free policy at aid stations and the finish; competitors should bring a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack.
Awards include place medals for top finishers in overall and age categories and a finisher medal for everyone who completes the race. Live results are hosted online and race photos are available after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
