Paul and Mike’s Excellent Mile 2026
Paul and Mike’s Excellent Mile is a one mile road race held each summer in Amarillo, Texas. The 2026 edition takes place at Thompson Memorial Park on July 11, 2026, and marks the 32nd running of the event, which began in 1995.
The event is organized as three separate heats by age: a masters heat for runners 40 and over, an open heat for ages 14 to 39, and a heat for walkers and children 13 and under. Entry fees are listed as $25 for participants age 14 and over and $20 for ages 13 and under, with fees increasing by $5 beginning July 4, 2026. The listing also notes a $5 discount applied for ages 13 and under at checkout.
Awards are presented after the races and include overall male and female honors, masters awards, and age-group awards. Age groups cover 0–9, 10–13, 14–18, 19–29, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70+. Every participant receives a custom-designed T-shirt or tank top and additional participant items. Packet pickup is handled at Get Fit, 1911 S. Georgia, on the Friday before the event.
