15th Annual Patrick Joyce Fund Event
The Patrick Joyce Fund 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk takes place in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. This annual event is held at West Park Station and supports the Patrick Joyce Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid for students attending St. Edward High School. It also raises funds for Long QT Syndrome advocacy and research through PACES, an international group of professionals focused on cardiac rhythm disturbances in children and young adults.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5k
- 1 mile
The event features a competitive element for the longer distance, with awards presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Recognition is also provided for the top three male and female participants in several age divisions, ranging from 14 and under to 60 and over.
Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a tech t-shirt, while those registering on the day of the event receive shirts based on availability. Following the run and walk, a post-race party is held at West Park Station featuring music on the patio, a brunch menu, and refreshments. Families can participate in various activities, and adult participants have access to a cash bar. Additionally, a portion of food sales from the post-race brunch is donated to the fund when participants present their race bib. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
