Path to Prevention : Run For Prevention (August 22, 2026)
Path to Prevention is a community running event held on August 22, 2026, that includes a 5K and a half marathon. The event promotes awareness of opioid alternatives and broader prevention efforts, including underage drinking and vaping, and shares local statistics about prescription and overdose trends.
Distances:
- 5K - starts and ends at Riverdale City Offices, out-and-back on Weber River path
- Half Marathon - streets in Uintah then Weber River Parkway paths through four cities
The half marathon course runs through Riverdale, South Ogden, Uintah and Washington Terrace, with much of the route on the Weber Pathways trail and a segment on local streets in Uintah. The 5K follows Weber River Drive to the trail, proceeds south to a footbridge, then returns to the Riverdale City Offices for the finish. Participants for both races meet at the Riverdale City Offices; half marathon runners are transported to their start by bus. Parking is available at Riverdale City Offices near the finish.
