Event details
The Paper Chase is a 5K road race held on February 28, 2026 in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. The course is a partial loop that is USATF certified (code AL18003JE) and winds through downtown. Strollers are not permitted on the course. The event raises funds to support teachers and students through Free 2 Teach, an organization that provides free supplies to public school teachers. The school with the most runners will receive $1,500 for library and/or technology needs. A race map is provided by the organizer. The event will be held in person, rain or shine, and registration fees are non-refundable. Registration by January 31, 2026 is required to guarantee a T-shirt.
Registration and pricing
There are two registration categories with set entry fees: community registration and school staff/student registration. Prices listed are $40 for general community registration and $30 for school staff and student registration. Online registration closes on February 25, 2026.
