Papandayan Trail Running
The Papandayan Trail Run is an off-road running event held at Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Papandayan in Garut, West Java. Now in its third edition, the event takes place on a volcanic landscape, providing participants with a course that passes through various natural landmarks, including active craters, forests, and Edelweiss fields.
The event features three distinct distance categories designed to accommodate different levels of experience:
- 5.5 km (Scenic Run): Features a total elevation gain of 358 meters and a 4-hour cut-off time.
- 10 km (Crater Run): Features a total elevation gain of 614 meters and a 5-hour cut-off time.
- 21 km (Volcanic Run): Features a total elevation gain of 1,176 meters and a 7-hour cut-off time.
The terrain consists of rugged trails and mountain paths typical of a volcanic region. In addition to the running events, the site also mentions mountain bike racing on Mount Papandayan. All races take place within the natural park environment, focusing on the scenic and geographical characteristics of the mountain.
