Panting Four Paws
Panting Four Paws is a community run and walk held on October 3, 2026 at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The event marks the 20th edition and raises funds for Helping Paws Animal Shelter, supporting a Phase 2 renovation of the facility that houses animals awaiting adoption.
The event offers multiple course options and uses the park playground area for the start and finish. The 10K follows the same loop as the 5K completed twice. Packet pick up is available the day before at The Running Depot in Crystal Lake and on race day at Lippold Park.

Awards are given for overall male and female finishers and for age group placings, with age divisions starting at 14 and under and continuing through 70 and over. After the event there are post-race food and refreshments. All proceeds benefit Helping Paws Animal Shelter, a private nonprofit that cares for hundreds of animals annually and describes its mission as providing second chances for animals in need.
