About the race
Panting Four Paws is a charity run and walk held at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois on October 3, 2026. The event marks the 20th Panting Four Paws and raises funds for Helping Paws Animal Shelter, supporting Phase 2 renovations to improve shelter facilities. Helping Paws is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that cares for more than 800 animals annually.
Distances offered include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
- 1 Mile Walk
The race course starts and finishes near the playground at Lippold Park. The 5K is one loop of the course and the 10K consists of two loops. Post-race food and refreshments are provided after the event.
Packet pick up is scheduled the day before at The Running Depot in Crystal Lake and on race day at Lippold Park. Race shirts are guaranteed for those registered by September 13, 2026; the 1 Mile Walk registration does not include a race shirt. Awards for the 5K and 10K include overall male and female winners plus first through third place in multiple age groups from 14 and under through 70 and over.
