Panting Four Paws, Crystal Lake
Panting Four Paws is a community run and walk held on October 3, 2026 at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois (851 IL-176). The event marks the 20th year of Panting Four Paws and raises funds for Helping Paws Animal Shelter, a private non-profit 501(c)(3) that cares for more than 800 animals annually. Organizers are fundraising for Phase 2 renovations of the shelter facility; all proceeds benefit Helping Paws.
The event program includes organized distances:
- 5K run/walk, one lap around the course
- 10K run, two laps around the same course
- 1 Mile walk
The race starts and finishes by the playground at Lippold Park. Post-race food and refreshments are provided. Packet pick up is available the day before at The Running Depot, 30 N. Williams Street, Crystal Lake, and on race day at Lippold Park. Participants registered by September 13, 2026 are guaranteed a shirt and size; the 1 Mile registration does not include a race shirt.
Awards for the 5K and 10K include overall male and female winners and age group awards for first through third place. Age group categories run from 14 and under through 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
