About the race
The Panoráma Trail is a single-route trail marathon through the Zemplén Hills that links three historical castles. The event takes place in October 2026 and follows a mostly forested course of 45 km with about 1800 m of ascent and roughly 10% asphalt. The route starts at Boldogkő Castle and finishes at Füzér Castle, passing Regéc Castle mid-route. Course features include rocky, technical trails, stream crossings and sustained climbs.
There are organized aid and relay points at approximately 10 km (Mogyoróska), 16 km (Regéc), 29 km (Telkibánya) and 39 km (Hollóháza), plus services at the finish. A 9-hour time limit applies to the 45 km distance; aid stations close if competitors miss intermediate cutoffs and then they are removed from the race. The event accepts individual runners and 3-person teams; relay exchange points are at Regéc (16 km) and Telkibánya (29 km). Team entries are limited to 100 teams.
Entry opens online on 2026.05.17 with tiered entry fees listed for specific periods; the field is restricted to preserve course quality. Organizers provide a finisher medal, finisher shirt, warm meal at the finish, castle weekend tickets and a packaged start kit. Participants are advised to carry at least 0.5 liters of water, a trail running shoe and a charged mobile phone. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
