Pandora's Box of Rox Trail Run
Pandora's Box of Rox is a trail running event held at Reveille Peak Ranch near Burnet, Texas in late April. The event offers multiple distances:
- 52.4 miles (double marathon)
- 26.2 miles (marathon)
- 13.1 miles (half marathon)
- 8 miles
- 4 miles
- Youth 1 mile
The full 13.1 mile loop is the base unit: the marathon is two full laps and the double marathon is four full laps. The 8 mile and 4 mile courses follow portions of the full loop and include well-marked cutoffs that return runners to the finish area. Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and intermediate confidence markers; reflective elements are used for nights.
Aid stations are staffed at the start/finish lake aid station and at JACK A.S. ROAD A.S. and GATE A.S. provide water and basic supplies. Some unstaffed water may not stay on ice all day. There are restrooms and a few showers at the pavilion; there are no restrooms on the course. The event is cupless; runners must bring their own cup or bottle. A ranch waiver is required for all entrants to access the property.
The race weekend includes a race hub with a pavilion by the lake, camping on a first come, first serve basis, and a youth trail run that is untimed with a finisher medal. Registration opens in November. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
