The Pandora's Box of Rox Trail Race is a multi-distance trail running event held at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, Texas, located outside of Austin. The event takes place on a ranch featuring diverse terrain, including meadows, creek crossings, scenic overlooks, and granite domes.
Participants can choose from a range of distances to suit different experience levels:
- 52.4 miles (Double Marathon - four laps)
- 26.2 miles (Marathon - two laps)
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon - one lap)
- 8 miles (One modified lap)
- 4 miles (One short lap)
- 1 mile (Youth Run)
The course is marked with orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and reflective confidence markers for visibility during dark hours. As a cupless event, runners are required to provide their own hydration vessels. Fully staffed aid stations are located at the Lake and Jack locations, providing water, electrolytes, and various food options. Unstaffed stations with basic supplies are also available on the course.
The event hub features a lakeside pavilion with a swimming pool near the finish line, food trucks, and backyard games. For those participating in longer distances, pacers are permitted after the runner has finished two full loops, or throughout the entire race for participants aged 60 and older. Registration typically opens in November. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
