The Panama City Beach Marathon takes place in Florida, offering participants the opportunity to run along the coastline near the local beaches. The event features multiple distance options starting and ending at Pier Park. The Marathon and Half Marathon courses are certified, with the full marathon following a looped, out and back format.
Participants can choose from several categories:
- Full Marathon: A race covering 26.2 miles, featuring a wheeled category.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile distance, also including a wheeled category.
- 5K Run: A 3.1 mile race.
- Kids Fun Run: A non-competitive dash for children.
Logistics and Support
The course remains open to traffic with minimal activity expected, and participants run with the flow of traffic. Course support includes water and electrolyte stations located at mile markers, and energy gels are provided while supplies last. Medical assistance is available on-site through local EMS and police services. Portlets are positioned at six locations along the route, and mileage signs are posted throughout for all distances.
Registered runners for the marathon, half marathon, and 5K receive a long-sleeve shirt and a finisher medal. Results are tracked via timing chips, and live tracking is available through a dedicated mobile application. An awards ceremony is held for overall winners and various divisions within each race distance.
