Pajarito Mountain Run - Los Alamos, NM
The Pajarito Mountain Run is a trail event at Pajarito Mountain Ski Area near 397 Camp May Road in Los Alamos, NM. The advertised distance is 10K, though the course is described as slightly short of a full 10K. The route reaches a summit above 10,200 feet and includes approximately 1,350 feet of total ascent.
The course starts and finishes near the lodge and makes a 3.25 mile ascent to the summit before returning via the Aspen For Trouble singletrack. The route begins with about one mile of rolling singletrack on the Lower Aspenola Trail, then proceeds with roughly 2.25 miles of ascent on a service road to the summit aid station. The descent follows Aspen For Trouble singletrack with a short section on service road and a final short singletrack segment to the finish. The course will be marked with yellow flagging, arrows, and directional signage at junctions. There are no cutoffs on the route and hikers are permitted.
The event includes organized trail stewardship: pre-event trail maintenance and post-event course sweeping to remove trash. Pricing tiers are listed: Standard registration through July 31 is $65, Late registration August 1–14 is $75, and Race Day entry is $80 cash only. The T-shirt sizing guarantee deadline is August 10. The refund policy offers a 50% rollover credit for cancellations 21 days or more before the event; no refunds or credits are given within 21 days.
