Paddle Run 4 CureHHT : Gibraltar, Michigan
Paddle Run 4 CureHHT is a fundraising event on June 7, 2026, at Captain Jim’s Marina & Bar, 13500 Middle Gibraltar Rd., Gibraltar, MI 48173. The event raises money to find a cure for Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). HHT is described as an inherited disease that causes malformed blood vessels in multiple organs, often beginning with nosebleeds in childhood and potentially causing serious health problems if not diagnosed and treated.
The event program includes welcoming announcements followed by a scenic kayak and stand up paddle tour that circles the main island of Gibraltar. The paddle covers about 2.8 kilometers and travels along the Lake Erie waterfront and canal-front residential areas. Kayakers launch one at a time; participants in the paddle may start the 5K run when they finish the paddle. Announcements and results are posted after the event. Drinks and food are available for purchase at Captain Jim’s Marina & Bar.
Safety and participant provisions noted by the organizer include required lifejackets to wear or have on the boat during the kayak portion, limited kayaks available so participants are encouraged to bring their own, and limited event T-shirts with no guaranteed sizes. Registration opened in January and February and closed on May 23, 2026; registration fees ranged from $25 to $60.
