The Packo's Panther 5K Run/Walk takes place in Toledo, Ohio. The event has a single 5 km distance for runners and walkers.
Course and Start
The route begins on Whitmer Drive, in front of Washington Junior High. It goes through the WLS neighborhoods and finishes on the 50-yard line of Whitmer Memorial Stadium.
Included Items and Benefits
A paid $25 registration includes a soft cotton race shirt, a $5 gift certificate to Packo's, and a Tony Packo's hotdog along with other food and drinks after the race. The winning male and female of the 5K race will sign a Tony Packo's bun, which will be displayed for a full year at the Secor Road store.
Beneficiary
The event benefits Washington Local Cross Country, which involves around 300 runners from grades 1 through 12. It also helps start two $500 scholarships for one male and one female senior cross country runner from Whitmer High School.
Practical Information
Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at Packo's Restaurant on Secor Road, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. A race party will be held at that time, with 50% of all sales from that night given back to WLS Cross Country. Parking is suggested at the stadium on Whitmer Drive, the CTC parking lot, or on Clegg Street in front of Whitmer. The event has a no-refund policy once race fees are paid.
