The Pack Monadnock 10 Miler is a point to point road race covering 10 miles from Highland Street near Wilton-Lyndeborough High School to the summit of Pack Monadnock next to the fire tower. The route includes mixed surfaces with gravel sections on Sand Hill Road and Old Revolutionary Road and paved sections on Davisville Road, Burton Highway, Webster Highway, Rt. 101, and the paved switch-back auto road in Miller State Park.
The course runs uphill in the early miles, has rolling terrain through miles two to six, and features a water stop at 5.1 miles and a steep quarter mile climb near 5.5 miles. Around mile 7 the course uses Old Revolutionary Road, and just before mile 8 runners climb Rt. 101 then pass Temple Mountain Ski Area before entering Miller State Park. The final 1.3 miles ascend the paved switch-back auto road to the summit and finish right of the tower. The auto road is closed to traffic after the race and runners descend on foot to the Temple Mountain Ski Area parking lot; medical transport is available when needed.
Registration fees vary by date. Packet pick up is available on race day at Wilton-Lyndeborough High School. Parking is available at the start with limited parking near the finish and a post race shuttle back to the start. One bag per runner may be left at the designated gear drop area for transport to Miller State Park. Awards for overall and age group finishers are announced at Temple Mountain.
