High-Altitude Mountain Trail Running

The Pacifico Ultra takes place in the Angeles National Forest near Palmdale, California. This event offers a high-country adventure through the San Gabriel Mountains, with course elevations ranging between 5,000 and 7,100 feet. The routes utilize a mix of technical singletrack, mountainside truck trails, and paved sections. Runners pass through pine forests and along ridges with views of the Mojave Desert, Mount Gleason, and Pacifico Mountain.

The event features two distinct distances:

  • 50 km: A 31.8-mile ultra-marathon route with approximately 5,317 feet of elevation gain. This course has a 10-hour time limit.
  • 21 km: A half-marathon trail route featuring 2,293 feet of vertical gain, including a climb to the Pacifico Summit.

Event Logistics and Amenities

The race is a cupless event, meaning participants must carry their own hydration vessels. The 50 km distance includes nine aid station stops, while the half-marathon includes three. Participants have access to off-site parking at the Pearblossom Park and Ride, with shuttle vans running every 10 minutes to the race site at Mill Creek Summit.

All finishers receive hand-crafted medals. The post-race festival includes music, a finish line announcer, and a meal with vegan-friendly taco options. Professional medical support and sports massages are available on-site. The 50 km race serves as a Sterling Silver Ticket event for the Angeles Crest 100-mile Endurance Run, offering guaranteed entry spots for the top two male and female finishers.
