Owego Strawberry Festival - Rock & Run 5K
The Owego Strawberry Festival Rock and Run is a community 5K run/walk held at Hickories Park in Owego, NY. The event includes a separate Kid's Fun Run for children ages 12 and under; child participants must register and have a parent sign for them. Kid's Fun Run entrants receive a numbered bib and a medal.
All 5K participants receive the annual Strawberry Festival race medal. Bib pickup and race registration take place on site near the bandstand area before the runs. T‑shirts are offered at a discount for registered runners and will also be available for purchase at the event.
Organizers advise driving slowly when entering Hickories Park because of high pedestrian activity near the bandstand. Orange cones and volunteers will mark the course and assist with safety. Runners are asked to position themselves according to expected pace so faster runners start near the front and slower runners, walkers, and those with strollers start further back to reduce congestion.
The event runs Rain or Shine. Entry fees are non-refundable; the organizers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event for emergencies or other circumstances beyond their control without issuing refunds. After the 5K, music, vendors, ice cream and food trucks will continue at the Hickories bandstand, with local vendors such as Ice Cream Works, Pitstop Popcorn, and The Cellar Restaurant on site.
