About the race
The Outpost 8k Trail Race, held in Flatrock, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a scenic 8-kilometer trail run starting at Father Troy's Trail trailhead on Windgap Road. The course features a mix of single track and wide open paths, winding through varied terrain including coastal trails, with a turnaround at a notable giant boulder known as "The Outpost." The event emphasizes community, inclusivity, and environmental respect, limiting participants to 125 runners with categories for male, female, and non-binary athletes. Runners are encouraged to be courteous on shared trails, and the race has a 1 hour 45 minute cut-off to minimize impact on the area and volunteers.
