Race Information
The Boston Pizza Flat Out 5k is a 5k road race. It takes place on a Sunday in April. The start is on Aberdeen by Boston Pizza, and the finish is on Stavanger near Carrick.
Online registration closes on the Thursday evening before the race. The entry fee is $20. An NLAA (Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association) competitive membership or a $5 day permit is required to participate. The event features chip timing. Age group and overall medals are awarded.
Bib pickup takes place at the Hop Shop, located at 16 Harbour View Avenue (a Quidi Vidi Brewery outlet off Torbay Road), on the Saturday afternoon before the race.
Facilities and Services
Parking, washrooms, and the post-race reception are located at Boston Pizza. Participants are encouraged to bring drink can pull tabs and used running sneakers to bib pickup for recycling to support charitable causes.
Event Purpose
The race was created to support the endowment of the Athletics NorthEAST (ANE) Award at Memorial University (MUN). This award is presented annually to the top male and female cross-country team athletes at MUN. A contribution from the race proceeds is made each year to top up the value of the award.
