Event Format
The Outlast Little Rock is a six-hour endurance challenge. Participants run a 5K trail lap every hour on the hour. A runner must complete each lap within the hour to continue. Finishing a lap early allows for rest until the next hour starts. Missing a lap cutoff removes a runner from the event.
Course & Terrain
The event takes place on trail terrain at Burns Park Equestrian Trail in North Little Rock. The course features natural surfaces like dirt, rocks, and roots, with elevation changes and some sections of pavement and gravel. Conditions can be unpredictable.
Participant Information
All participants receive a premium event t-shirt. Rewards are given based on the number of laps completed within the six-hour window:
- 4 laps: "Grit Earned" patch.
- 5 laps: "Survivor" patch.
- 6 laps: Premium "OUTLAST" medal.
Aid is available at the basecamp with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event; participants must bring their own bottle or hydration system. Participants are permitted to set up personal tents or aid stations.
Competition & Rankings
The top male and female finishers with the fastest combined time for all six laps are the event winners. All runners who complete all six laps are ranked on a national leaderboard. The fastest runner across all Outlast events is crowned National Champion and wins a $1,000 prize. The top 100 national times are invited to an Outlast Championship.
