Event overview
Out With the Old - In With the New is a two-day running event in Rochester, Michigan on December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026. The event is based at the RARA (Rochester Avon Recreation Authority) Building, 500 E 2nd St, with parking in the RARA lot and the adjacent Clinton River Trail lot. The course is a mostly flat 5K that uses a mixture of rail trail and dirt trails through the back of Bloomer Park. The same course is used both days but the direction is switched on the second day. The participant cap is 270 runners each day. Dogs are not allowed inside the building.
Registration, inclusions and awards
Single-day registration is listed at $35 and the two-day option at $60; prices increase after November 30, 2025 at 11:59pm EST. Each day offers a timed 5K, a finisher medal (each day has a unique medal that fits together if both days are run), and the opportunity to win age-group awards. Out With the Old (Dec 31) includes a T-shirt trade, light finisher snacks and water. In With the New (Jan 1) includes waffles and mimosas after the finish. The event offers an opt-in cupless racing option: participants who carry personal hydration can get refills at the aid station, otherwise single-use cups are available; a reusable Hydrapak cup is offered during registration for $4.
