Ottawa Hills Back to School 5K and Green Bear 1 Mile Kids Run
This community running event on August 15 in the Village of Ottawa Hills includes a 5K through the village and a separate kids run held entirely inside the high school stadium. The 5K finishes under the lights at Niedermeier Stadium and starts in the elementary school parking lot.

Packet pick-up is available on the day before and on race day; morning pick-up is set in the Ottawa Hills High School parking lot, and packets are also available on race day at the elementary school parking lot prior to the races. Registrations have different fees: $35 for the standard 5K entry, $25 for student and staff 5K registration, and $20 for the kids run entry. There is no guarantee of a shirt for registrations after August 8, 2026.
The Saturday Night Lights 5K benefits Ottawa Hills 2027 After Prom, an evening program that provides food and prizes in a drug- and alcohol-free environment.
