Ossian Fest 5K
The Ossian Fest 5K takes place in Ossian, Iowa on August 8, 2026 at 414 E. Main St. The event theme is "250 Years of Stars, Stripes, and Freedom!" It includes a 5K fun run/walk, a 250 Foot Tot Trot for the youngest children, and a 250 Yard Kids Dash for older children.
The morning begins with registration where participants pick up bibs and shirts. The 5K is open to all ages; strollers are allowed but are asked to start at the back. Age-group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each category.
Children's races are free. The Tot Trot is for children five years old and under and each participant receives a ribbon at the finish. The Kids Dash is for ages six to twelve and also awards a ribbon to each participant.
5K registration fees vary by date: $25 by June 30, $30 from July 1 through August 2, and $35 the week of the race. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed by July 18; additional shirts after that date are distributed first come first serve. After the races there is a free pancake breakfast inside the St. Teresa Gym. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
