Crater Trail Run
Crater Trail Run is an off-road trail event in Decorah, IA, held at Van Peenen Memorial Park with the start and finish at the trailhead on Quarry Hill Rd. The park features groomed, marked single-track trails that are part of a 17+ mile mountain bike trail system.
Distances offered include:

The event organizes awards and an onsite general-entry raffle. Proceeds are shared among the Northeast Iowa Montessori School, Decorah Human Powered Trails, and Decorah Park & Rec. The event proceeds in rain or shine unless extreme weather forces a change. Course turns are clearly marked and runners may change their entered distance until packet pickup; after packet pickup entrants are committed to their chosen distance for race day.
Registration opens Fri. Jan 1, 2027 at 12:00 AM CT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
