Osborne's Grays Triathlon (Aquabike / Aquathlon)
Osborne's Grays Triathlon takes place at Blackshots Leisure Centre, Blackshots Lane, Grays RM16 2JU on Sunday 19 July 2026. The event uses a pool swim, a road bike course on local roads, and a multi-lap run within the leisure centre grounds.
Distances for the event are:
- 400 m swim - 12 lengths of a 33.3 m pool swum snake style
- 20 km bike - two laps on local roads open to traffic
- 5 km run - three laps around the leisure centre grounds
The adult and youth swim is swum snake style, with competitors moving up and down adjacent lanes and ducking under a rope to change lanes. Transition area is directly outside the pool accessed via the poolside fire exit; competitors are asked to walk rather than run in the transition area. On re-entry at the end of the bike, competitors should rack their bikes where they were collected before starting the run.
Entry fees vary by event and by early entry. A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for non-home-nation members and costs £2.00 for participants aged 24 and under, £8.00 for others. Age is taken as at 31 December of the race year and the minimum age for the adult race is 15. Female and Open categories are provided in each age group. Withdrawals are accepted up to 14 days before the event with refunds minus a £5 administration charge. Results are published on the club website after the event.
