Event Details
The ORRC Hagg Lake Run and Walk takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event is held at Henry Hagg Lake within Scoggins Valley Park, approximately six miles south of Forest Grove on Highway 47. The start and finish for all events is at Bobcat Cove.
Distances and Courses
The event offers six separate race categories for runners and walkers:
- 10.5 Mile Run
- 10.5 Mile Walk
- 10K Run
- 10K Walk
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
The 10.5 mile course is one full loop around the lake, run counter-clockwise. The 5K and 10K courses are out-and-back routes, also starting and finishing at Bobcat Cove. Participants are instructed to stay in the bike lane for safety, as most of the road remains open to traffic. Flaggers will be present where courses cross the road.
Additional Information
A free quarter-mile Kids Run is offered on pavement and trail at Bobcat Cove; no registration is required. There are four aid stations on the course providing water, Gatorade, Gu, and snacks. The 5K does not pass any aid stations.
Registration prices vary by distance, with a discount offered for members of the Oregon Road Runners Club (ORRC) who pre-register. Packet pick-up is on race day only at Bobcat Cove starting at 7:00 a.m., using dynamic bib assignment.
Awards include trophies for overall winners in each distance and division, and ribbons for the top five finishers in each five-year age group. Finisher medals are awarded for the 10.5 mile distance only. Post-race activities include two raffles: one for pies and an "Everybody Wins Raffle" where participants can select a prize.
The event has a Pay It Forward Fund to assist with entry fees for those with financial difficulties. Strollers are permitted but must start at the back, and only service dogs are allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
