About the race
The OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run is a team and individual obstacle event held at the 200-acre OneWorld Pet Resort in Anniston, Alabama on May 15–16, 2027. Owner-and-dog teams run a course of more than 4 miles that includes 30-plus purpose-built obstacles across varied terrain, including dense woodlands, dirt, sand, water, and both natural and manmade features. The event accepts civilian dog owners, Search & Rescue teams, military and police dog teams, and individuals who wish to run without a canine partner. Competition options include Saturday team or individual entries and a lower-key timed Sunday run using the same course but without time-based awards.
Teams are defined as groups of four or more who start and finish together; team results use the average time of the first four finishers. Some handlers may choose a second Saturday run; both runs are eligible for awards. Scoring is based on finish time with age-based handicap adjustments: handlers receive a 15-second deduction per year over 21, and dogs receive a one-minute deduction per year over age two.
Awards are given in multiple divisions with first through third places, and team awards are presented as trophies. Registration includes a finisher shirt and medal, entertainment and 21+ beverage service, and a Saturday evening event with open bar for 21+. Kennel boarding is available on site with 130 kennels, and camping and RV options are offered for the weekend.
