Event Overview
The 8th Annual One King Sports 5K & Kids Race is a community sports event held in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The event takes place at Veteran's Memorial Park and utilizes local trail systems. The proceeds from the event support the upcoming One King Sports ministry seasons.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- Short sprint Kids Race (8 & Under)
The 5 km course follows an out and back route. It begins at the Freedom Shelter, proceeds through the VA Trail to a turnaround point on the Harrison County Rail Trail, and returns to the original starting location. The course is marked and staffed by volunteers to guide participants. The Kids Race takes place near the start and finish line following the completion of the main race.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. In specific age groups ranging from 14 & Under to 70+, first-place finishers receive trophies, while second and third-place finishers receive custom genuine leather patches. Additional competitions include awards for the Fastest Team and Largest Team. Registered participants who sign up before the specified April deadline receive a t-shirt.
