13th Annual Omega Prostate Cancer Awareness 5K

The Omega Prostate Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk is an annual community event held in Little Rock, Arkansas. The course is situated at Murray Park and utilizes the Big Dam Bridge. This event serves as a fundraiser where all proceeds beyond expenses are donated to the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and scholarship funds for high school students. These scholarships are administered through the Omegas of Greater Little Rock, Inc., a non-profit corporation.

The primary objective of the event is to increase public recognition, discussion, and education regarding health screenings. It specifically promotes awareness for both prostate cancer and colon cancer. Previous editions of the race have seen participation exceed 260 runners and walkers, contributing to thousands of dollars in charitable donations.

Specific race distances include:

  • 5K running race

The course provides an opportunity for participants to support medical research and education while exercising in a public park setting. Registration fees are collected to support the mission of the beneficiary organizations, which provide resources for those living with cancer diagnoses and academic support for local students.
