Olympia Lakefair Races - Half Marathon, 8K & 3K
The 2026 Olympia Lakefair Races mark the event's 50th anniversary and comprise the Jerry Miller Half Marathon, an 8K, and a 3K including a free 3K Kid's Run for youth 14 and under. Races use routes that circle Olympia and extend into Tumwater and other parts of Thurston County, with a shared finish area in front of Heritage Park on 5th Avenue SW.
Course details:
- Jerry Miller Half Marathon
- 8K Run
- 3K Run and 3K Kid's Run
The 3K and 8K both circle Capitol Lake; the 8K continues into Tumwater Historical Park before returning. Those two courses are described as flat and fast. The half marathon passes briefly through downtown Olympia, follows the Woodland Trail and Chehalis Western Trail biking paths, traverses rural streets and a short trail through Squaxin Park, then returns along East Bay Drive into downtown to finish at Heritage Park. Runners encounter tree-lined, narrow paved trails and scenic sections along these routes.
Awards include overall, masters and super masters divisions, disabled and wheelchair categories, age-group awards up to 90+, and random raffle prizes at the post-race awards ceremony. Event organizers include the Lake Run Organization and the Rotary Club of Olympia, with the Valley Athletic Club listed as the 2026 presenting sponsor. Packet pick-up locations include Fleet Feet Running at 3405 Capitol Blvd and a day-of pickup at Heritage Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
