Event Overview
The Oldham County Sprint Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event held at Wendell Moore Park in La Grange, Kentucky. This competition consists of three distinct segments held on park grounds and local roads. Participation is limited to a maximum of 200 entries.
Course Details
The event features a sprint distance format divided into swimming, cycling, and running:
- 400 meter swim: Conducted in the John W. Black Aquatic Center 25-meter pool with a timed start every 15 seconds.
- 10 mile bike: A hilly course on local roads with police presence at major intersections. The roads remain open to traffic.
- 2 mile run: Held within the park grounds on an asphalt trail that includes some grass sections.
Participant Information
All finishers receive a medal upon crossing the finish line. An awards ceremony follows the event, featuring food and door prizes. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female participants, as well as the top two finishers across various age categories.
Registration requires a fee, and participants who are not members of USAT must pay an additional fee for one-day insurance coverage. The registration deadline is set for mid-August. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
