Oldham County Sprint Triathlon
Oldham County Parks and Recreation will host the 23rd annual USAT sanctioned Sprint Triathlon at Wendell Moore Park in La Grange, Kentucky on August 29, 2026. The event takes place at Wendell Moore Park and uses the John W. Black Aquatic Center pool for the swim.
Distances:
- 400 meters swim
- 10 miles bike
- 2 miles run
The swim is a time start with athletes sent every 15 seconds in the 25 meter pool. The bike course covers 10 miles on Oldham County roads that are not closed to traffic; police will be present at major intersections and the course is described as hilly. The run is held on park grounds and follows an asphalt trail with a few grass sections.
Participants must be 16 and over. Entry for an individual is $75.00. Non USAT members must pay an additional fee to cover one day insurance. Registration closes on August 16, 2026 and the field is limited to 200 entries.
All triathletes receive a finish medal. An awards ceremony follows the race with free pizza. Awards are given to Overall Female, Overall Male, and the top two finishers in multiple age groups. All participants receive a ticket for a chance to win door prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
