Event Overview

The Oldham County Sprint Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned event hosted by Oldham County Parks and Recreation. It will be the 23rd annual edition, taking place at Wendell Moore Park in La Grange, Kentucky.

Course Details

The triathlon consists of three legs. The swim leg is 400 meters in the John W. Black Aquatic Center 25-meter pool, using a time-trial start with participants beginning every 15 seconds. The bike course covers 10 miles on open roads in Oldham County, described as hilly, with police present at major intersections. The run leg is 2 miles on park grounds, using an asphalt trail with some grass sections.

Logistics and Awards

All finishers receive a medal at the finish line. An awards ceremony with free pizza follows the race. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners, as well as to the top two finishers in various age groups. All participants receive a ticket for a chance to win door prizes during the ceremony.

Registration and Fees

Individual registration costs $75. Non-USAT members must pay an additional fee for one-day insurance. Registration closes on August 12 at 2:00 p.m., with a maximum of 200 entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
