Old Plank Sunset Half : event details
The Old Plank Sunset Half is a half marathon held on August 8, 2026 in Kohler, WI. The race distance is 13.1 miles. The course is point-to-point, running from the Quit Qui Oc Sports Complex in Plymouth to the Sports Core in Kohler (100 Willow Creek Dr). Most of the route follows the Old Plank Trail on a paved blacktop surface along Hwy 23. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each group (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up). Overall male and overall female winners also receive awards.
Course support and logistics
The event provides bus transportation to the start from the Sports Core; there is a single departure and parking at the start is very limited. Parking is available at the Sports Core, nearby Woodlake Market area parking lots, or the Kohler Shared Services building parking lot. There are six water stations at 1.7, 3.4, 5.4, 7.5, 9.6, and 11.2 miles, with four of those also offering Gatorade. GU gels are provided at 5.4 and 9.6 miles. Bathrooms are available at the start, with porta potties at mile 6.5 and the finish, and a pit toilet at mile 8.6 (Meadowlark Trailhead).
