Event details
The Old Plank Sunset Half Marathon is scheduled for August 8, 2026, in Kohler, WI. The event is a half marathon and is a point-to-point course that starts at the Quit Qui Oc Sports Complex in Plymouth and finishes at the Sports Core in Kohler. Most of the route runs on the Old Plank Trail on a paved blacktop surface along Hwy 23. Packet pickup is at the Sports Core in Kohler (100 Willow Creek Dr) on the days before and after the race. Age group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each group (19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and up). Overall male and overall female winners will also receive awards.
Course support and logistics
The race is point-to-point; participants must use race bus transport or be dropped off at the start because parking at the start is very limited and reserved for race personnel and support. Bus departures and parking are organized from the Sports Core and nearby lots, with buses staged on Woodlake Rd east of the Sports Core. Support on course includes:
- 1.7 miles water
- 3.4 miles water
- 5.4 miles water and Gatorade
- 7.5 miles water
- 9.6 miles water and Gatorade
- 11.2 miles water
Additional support: GU gels at 5.4 and 9.6 miles; bathrooms at the start, port-a-johns at mile 6.5 and the finish, and a pit toilet at mile 8.6 (Meadowlark Trailhead).
