Old Plank Sunset Half Marathon
The Old Plank Sunset Half Marathon is a point-to-point evening half marathon covering 13.1 miles. The course follows the Old Plank Trail (paved blacktop) from the Quit Qui Oc Sports Complex in Plymouth to the Sports Core in Kohler, running along Highway 23 and through neighborhoods before finishing at the Sports Core. The route is run with the sun setting behind the field.
Logistics note: the event is point-to-point, with bus transport provided to the start from the Sports Core because parking at the start is very limited. Parking is available at the Sports Core, nearby Woodlake Market area lots, or the Kohler Shared Services building.
Support and on-course services include six water stations (at approximately 1.7, 3.4, 5.4, 7.5, 9.6 and 11.2 miles), Gatorade at four of those stations, and GU gels provided at about 5.4 and 9.6 miles. Bathrooms are available at the start; porta-potties will be at mile 6.5 and the finish, and a pit toilet is located near mile 8.6 (Meadowlark Trailhead). Pacers will lead groups targeting a range of finish times. The finish area features music, food, drinks, medals and age group awards.
