Old Forge Marathon Weekend
The Old Forge Marathon Weekend is a multi-day sports festival held in Old Forge, New York, within the Adirondack Park. The event features a wide range of athletic activities, including road running, paddle sports, and cycling. Participants can choose from single-day races or multi-event certificates known as challenges.
The running portion of the weekend offers several distances:
- 50K Ultra Marathon
- 26.2 Mile Marathon (USATF Certified)
- 13.1 Mile Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The marathon and ultra marathon courses include hydration stations, with select stops providing food items. For those seeking consecutive days of competition, several challenges are available. The ADKrazy challenge requires completing a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon over three days. The Super Loony challenge combines a 10K and a Full Marathon, while various Loony Challenges pair a 10K with a Half Marathon on different days.
Beyond traditional running, the event includes the Ky-Tri, a three-part competition consisting of a 5K kayak, a 10K run, and a 12-mile gravel grinder bike race. Individual options for the 5K kayak and the 12-mile gravel grinder are also available. The kayak course is a down-and-back paddle through the channel connecting Old Forge Pond and First Lake. Virtual participation options are offered for the full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
