Old Forge Marathon Weekend
The Old Forge Marathon Weekend is a multi-day running and multisport event held in Old Forge, New York, at the George T Hiltebrant Recreation Center. The program spans several days in September and uses trail and rural roads in the Adirondack Park.
Races take place on mostly gravel and dirt roads and include on-site packet pickup at the recreation center in the days surrounding the event. Race entries include event shirts and finisher medals; certain distances receive a premium Old Forge flannel race shirt.
The weekend includes running, paddling and cycling options. There are multi-event challenges that combine a 10K with a half or full marathon, and a three-day ADKrazy option that covers multiple distances. A kayak event, a three-discipline Ky-Tri, and a 12-mile Gravel Grinder bike event are part of the schedule. Virtual options are offered for several distances. Free parking is available on site with overflow parking nearby. Typical September temperatures in Old Forge range from the mid 40s to the mid 60s Fahrenheit.
