Event Overview
The Old Forge Fire Department hosts the "Run for the Pizza," featuring a 5k Run and a 1 Mile Walk. This community event serves as a fundraiser for the Burn Prevention Network's Camp Susquehanna, a program that provides support and life skills experiences for young burn survivors aged 7-21. At least 50% of registration fees are donated directly to this cause.
Participants have three registration options:
- 5k Run
- 1 Mile Walk
- 5k Run specifically for first responders
Course and Location
The event takes place in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Both the 5k and the 1 mile routes start at the Old Forge High School Veterans Memorial Stadium. The course passes through residential neighborhoods and concludes one block away from Revello's Pizza. The walking route follows the same start and finish lines as the running course.
Prizes and Amenities
Awards are presented to the first and second-place male and female finishers in 10-year age categories. There are also specific prizes for the top two finishing first responders. Registered participants in the 5k receive a race t-shirt, while those participating in the 1 mile walk have the option to purchase one.
