Oklahoma Fallen Heroes
The event is the 16th annual hosting of a half marathon, a 10K, and a 5K run/walk held in Oklahoma City on the OKC river trail. It is presented in recognition and remembrance of nineteen brothers and one sister from its ranks who made the ultimate sacrifice since September 11, 2001.
The twenty fallen members will be honored during the event. Recognition begins at the starting line, continues at mile markers along the 13.1-mile course, and concludes at the finish line. Banners will be placed at 15 points; each banner includes a photo and a brief bio describing an individual and their sacrifices.
The half marathon course follows the river trail to accommodate a larger participant population. The event is not a sanctioned race.
