Event Overview
The Oil Creek 5 & 13 Stacked Trail Races take place at Drake Well Museum and Park in Titusville, Pennsylvania. The courses use the Gerard Hiking Trail in Oil Creek State Park. All proceeds benefit Friends of Drake Well, Inc., a nonprofit organization.
Race Options
The event offers several race options:
- 5 miles
- 13 miles
- Stacked Race (5 + 13 miles) - runners complete both distances consecutively.
- Youth Race
A key feature is the "Stacked" format. The 5-mile and 13-mile races start 90 minutes apart, allowing participants the option to run just one or to attempt both back-to-back. A strict 90-minute cutoff applies for 5-mile runners who wish to continue with the 13-mile race.
Awards and Swag
All finishers receive an award, specifically race logo embroidered performance socks. Participants who complete the Stacked Race receive an additional unique finisher's award (a hat). Additional awards are given to top overall male and female finishers in each individual race and the Stacked Race, with cash prizes for the top male and female in the stacked event. A T-shirt with a new design on soft tri-blend fabric is included with registration.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available on race day at the Drake Well Museum parking lot, with different check-in windows for the 5-mile/Stacked runners and the 13-mile-only runners. An optional pre-race packet pickup is held on Friday evening at the Titusville Ironworks Taphouse. Post-race refreshments and food are provided.
