Odense City Half
Odense City Half is a spring road-running event in Odense with multiple distances and a city-centre loop course. The event includes:
- Half marathon (21.1 km) – a flat 5 km loop run four times plus a 1.097 km extra loop on the first lap.
- Children's run (2.5 km) – two laps in Munke Mose.
The 5 km loop is DAF-measured. Runners find water stations at about 2.5 km on the loop and at the start, providing roughly one depot per 2.5 km for 10 km and half marathon participants. Race timing is by chip attached to the back of the race number; both gross and net times are recorded. Maximum race time is three hours; cyclists mark the rear and participants behind them must follow traffic rules. Pacing groups are provided for the half marathon with target finish times 1:30, 1:45 and 2:00.
Practical arrangements include bib and optional T-shirt pickup on specified days, bag storage in Munke Mose, toilets and changing tents near start and finish, and on-course signage asking runners to keep right where required. Headphones, including open-ear types, and jogging strollers are prohibited; dogs are not allowed. Finishers receive medals; there are cash prizes for top places in the half marathon and prizes for 5 km and 10 km podiums. The route passes Munke Mose several times, creating opportunities for spectators to cheer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
