OCNJ Half Marathon, 10 Mile & 5K
The OCNJ race event is a premier running competition held in Ocean City, New Jersey. The event features three distinct distances to accommodate various preferences:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10 Mile Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
The courses are designed to be fast and flat, providing participants with views of the downtown area and the Atlantic Ocean. A significant portion of the routes utilizes the local boardwalk, offering a scenic coastal environment for the duration of the run. The half marathon distance was recognized as a top regional event in 2024.
The event is organized by the Ocean City Recreation department, and all proceeds are directed toward local recreation scholarships and programs. For the competitive distances, the event uses chip timing for age group results, while overall winners are determined by gun time. The 10 Mile event is categorized as non-competitive, though finishes are still timed and posted.
Registration typically opens in early February with tiered pricing based on the date of entry. While in-person registration is available during pre-race packet pickup at the Ocean City Music Pier, there is no registration available on the day of the race for the half marathon or 10-mile distances. Participants can use a dedicated mobile app for live tracking during the event.
Awards are presented to the top overall male, female, and non-binary finishers in the Half Marathon and 5K categories.
