About the race
The Ochil Ultra is a multi-distance trail running event across the Ochil Hills in central Scotland, scheduled for 25–26 September 2026. Routes use the Core Path Network and run between Stirling, Auchterarder and Perth, finishing at Perth Fitness Studios.
Distances
- 50 miles Stirling to Perth via Ochils
- 30 miles Auchterarder to Perth
- 100 miles Perth to Stirling and back again
Both the 50 mile and 30 mile courses are fully marked and marshalled. The event provides water at checkpoints, drop-off bag transfer (approximately every 10 miles), chip timing, GPS tracking and live results. Medals are awarded to all finishers and prizes are given for first place in male, female and non-binary categories and for teams. Photographers, food and refreshments, toilets and sports massage are available at the finish. A medic team and event insurance are included; parking is available.
The Ochil 100 is limited entry and requires prior completion of a 50 mile or longer ultra in 12 hours or less. The 100 requires a support crew for the first half and uses the same checkpoints as the 50 mile race on the second half. Cutoffs are generous but a diversion route is used for safety if runners do not reach a required checkpoint by the designated deadline; race director decisions on safety and diversion are final.
Compulsory kit includes a head torch, whistle, mobile phone, emergency blanket, emergency food and drink and the issued GPS tracker. Recommended items include waterproofs, a map, first aid and spare socks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
