Oakville 21.1 : event description
The event offers three distances: 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km, with start and finish at Shell Park, 3307 Lakeshore Road W, Oakville, Ontario. The route leaves Shell Park, turns left onto Lakeshore, explores neighbourhoods south of Lakeshore, makes a loop through Tannery Park, and returns to Shell Park.
Aid stations provide water and electrolyte hydration approximately every 3 km. Portable toilets are available at each aid station and at the start/finish. The cut-off time for the 21.1 km distance is 3.5 hours after that race start. Pace bunnies will be available for the half marathon distance.
Parking and transport: there is no race day parking in Shell Park. A free shuttle operates between the Bronte GO Station parking lot and the race venue; spectators may use the shuttle as well.
Logistics and race kit: bag check is available at the venue but participants are advised not to leave valuables; volunteers staff the service but are not responsible for items. There is no race day kit pick up. Advance kit pick up is scheduled in Toronto and a race expo with kit pick up is scheduled in Oakville the day before the event. If picking up kits for large groups, participants should contact the organizer in advance so bibs and kits can be set aside.
Rules and policies: dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course. There are no cancellations or refunds; if the event is cancelled for weather, a virtual option is offered and registered participants still receive the swag bag and race shirt. Transfers between distances or to other runners are allowed until race week for an administration fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
