About the race
The NZ Ultramarathon Festival is a multi‑day timed running event held in Hagley Park, Christchurch, New Zealand, from 31 March to 10 April 2027. The event uses a measured 1.9464 km loop on concrete paths with 0 m elevation, circling Victoria and Albert Lakes and running beside the Avon River through mature shaded woodland. Events follow a traditional timed format: athletes elect a duration and run or walk laps of the loop, passing the central hub at the end of each lap. The hub provides food, drink and a place to rest or sleep.
The festival is fully catered during event hours; all entries include meals, snacks and drinks with vegan and gluten free options. Additional services and options listed at entry include tent hire, stretcher hire, branded gear, insurance, and purchasable crew meals for multi‑day support. Support services on site include 24/7 crew support for competitors, first aid, and massage available to book and pay directly. All finishers receive a medal; trophies are awarded to male and female individual winners.
