NYRR Team Championships 5M : Central Park
The NYRR Team Championships 5M is a club-based five-mile race in Central Park, held on the North Meadow/ East Drive area in Manhattan. The event stages men’s, women’s, and nonbinary points races that count toward the 2026 NYRR Club Points Series, with points doubled for the Team Championships year.
Team scoring is by net time and covers multiple age categories. Scoring rules for the event include: open division scoring of 10 men, 10 women, and 3 nonbinary runners; 40+ scoring of 5 men and 5 women; and 50+, 60+, and 70+ divisions each scoring 3 men and 3 women. To score for a team, an entrant must belong to an NYRR-recognized team and must have completed at least one NYRR scored or qualifying race for that team since, but not including, the previous year’s Team Championships. Runners who switched teams must observe a 90-day waiting period before scoring for a new team. Teams that did not field a full team in a prior Club Points race since the previous Team Championships may be ineligible to score.
All participants receive a New Balance shoe bag at number pickup. Race amenities include bag check with clear bag size limits and reusable hydration cups provided through a cup reuse program. Awards for the top three overall finishers are presented in the men’s, women’s, and nonbinary divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
