NYRR Summer Speed Series #2
NYRR Summer Speed Series #2 is a scored track and field meet held at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island. The meet takes place on a 400-meter Mondo track and is one stop in a multi-date series that includes additional meets, a community night, and a championships event.
Event spots are limited. Entry fees range from $0.00 to $21.15. The meet program includes a mix of running and field events:
- 1500 Meters
- 400 Meters
- 100 Meters
- Long Jump
- Shot Put
- Distance Medley Relay
The series includes invitational competitions later in the season. To qualify for the NYRR Summer Speed Series Championships, athletes must finish among the top competitors in at least one event during the series; the number of qualifying finishers may vary by event and meet date. Invited participants receive a special welcome package.
Youth athletes ages 12 to 18 may participate in the Rising NYRR portion of the meet; registration for that program is free and required. On race day, number pickup is available only on the day of the event on the second floor of Icahn Stadium. There is no bag check and the organizer is not responsible for unattended bags.
