NYRR Start Line Series - The Bronx
This free community event presents a professionally produced NYRR 5K on The Bronx Summer Streets. The series is designed to welcome runners, walkers, families, and participants of all ages and experience levels to a timed and scored fun run.
The course runs on the Grand Concourse. It begins at 180th Street, heads north past Edgar Allan Poe Park, continues past E. Kingsbridge Road to a U-turn before Bedford Park Boulevard, then returns south. The course includes one fluid station near 198th Street and passes Mile 2 by E. Kingsbridge before finishing back at 180th Street.
Children ages eight and older are eligible to participate in the 5K; guardians should consider each child’s comfort and ability. Finisher souvenirs are available while supplies last. NYRR provides accessibility resources and accepts reasonable accommodation requests for attendees.
Volunteer opportunities are available and may be eligible for a +1 toward non-complimentary guaranteed entry to the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon; volunteer registration opens on July 16 at 12:00 p.m. Bib pickup on event day allows proxy pickup with the participant QR code and matching photo identification. The event is held in partnership with NYC DOT Summer Streets and is one of three Start Line Series community runs that summer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
