About the race
The NYRR Start Line Series in The Bronx is a free, community 5K event produced in partnership with NYC DOT Summer Streets. It is presented as a beginner friendly event that welcomes runners, walkers, families, and participants of various ages to a professionally produced NYRR experience with timing and scoring.
The course uses the Grand Concourse and begins at 180th Street, heads north past Edgar Allan Poe Park, continues past E. Kingsbridge Road to a U-turn before Bedford Park Boulevard, and returns south past a single fluid station located at 198th Street before finishing back at 180th Street. Children ages eight and older may participate in the 5K; guardians are encouraged to consider each child’s comfort and ability.
Race day amenities listed include water before, during, and after the event, and post-race Snyder’s Pretzels, subject to availability. Finisher souvenirs will be available while supplies last. Bib pickup is arranged both before the event at the New Balance Run Hub and on event day at Race Day Central on the Grand Concourse between 179th Street and Bush Street; proxy pickup is permitted with the required QR code and matching photo identification.
Volunteer opportunities for this event count toward +1 volunteer credit for a non-complimentary guaranteed entry to the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon. Official results will be posted online after the event. Additional accessibility and logistical information is provided by the organizer.
