About the race
The NYRR Jersey City 5K is a scored road race held in Jersey City on October 4, 2026. The event is a 5K run open to participants age 8 and up and includes registration options that may offer 9+1 credit.
The course begins on Greene Street at Pearl Street, proceeds north onto Greene Street, merges onto Washington Boulevard and continues to Newport Parkway where runners make a U-turn. The route returns south on Washington Boulevard onto Washington Street, turns right on Steuben Street, then left onto Warren Street, and proceeds right onto Christopher Columbus Drive. After a U-turn just past Brunswick Street, runners continue east along Christopher Columbus Drive to the finish. The course is described as fast and flat and passes waterfront sections of downtown Jersey City.
Race logistics include bib and timing-tag pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER (320 West 57th Street) on multiple days before the event, with additional pickup opportunities after the TCS New York City Marathon Training Series 18M and at Dick’s House of Sport in Newport Mall. Participants receive a New Balance t-shirt at number pickup. Bag check is available at Race-Day Central with a clear-bag policy (no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep). Race-day amenities listed include water on course and at pre- and post-finish, plus post-finish apples and pretzels.
